  seen on the speedo is bouncing between 78 and 80. Problem  
  is, with the 25 I do go over 5500 rpm. But it is much better  
  with a load (of course). But I fish so much by myself that I  
  run the 27 to keep from over revving the motor. This is my  
  3rd Xpress and I will never buy anything else."

            Optimax "Boat has a great holeshot. Ride is as good as any other 19'  
  glass boat.  I have not broken the motor in yet. It should gps  
  around 75 mph. I have been very pleased with the boat.   
  I have had a few problems with the trailer. It is aluminum and  
  it floats when backed into the water. The front roller only has  
  2" clearance between the bottom of the roller and the plate  
  support. This makes it impossible to unhook the boat out of   
  the water. The hook is 3" long. You have to back the boat  
  into the water and then you can unhook it. This is extremely  
  frustrating. One of the trailer guards on the side was broke  
  when I bought the boat. It rattled all the way home and it   
  took me two weeks to figure out what was rattling."

  jack.  Also it has a nicer winch and I like the tube frame.  
  I did have to do a little re-rigging, wires were kind of a mess  
  and didn't like the new livewell system (only one pump).    
  I also added some touches of my own, recessed cleats and   
  trolling motor pedal and retracting transom tie downs. Well,   
  I guess I could go on but will end by saying I like the way  
  the Xpress performs and fishes, it's as good as any glass  
  boat I've fished out of."

  The speed didn't pick up at all.  I replaced my 19" Ballistic  
  with a Powertech 17" TRO wheel.  Holes on the low pressure  
  side of each blade.  Boat gets on plane in less than half the   
  time but the top speed dropped to 44.1 mph. I think I'm   
  going to return the new Powertech and have my Ballistic  
  cleaned up."  
     Updated 12/8/02... "Just had my worn out Ballistic reworked, holes drilled on the  
  low pressure side of the blade - gets on step much faster  
  than before.  Raised the air intake cowl creating a sort of   
  hood scoop 1.25" above the engine cow and got 3 mph, all  
  for $4.60!!  Finally broke 50 on the GPS and gained 300   
  rpm."
