  Talked to Genmar and the tech said that on the 400 the sweet  
  spot is 3.5" below the pad. Thay also said that the 400 is the  
  same basic hull as the new Stratos 200, so they have a ton of  
  technical info on the setup. I've raised the motor to what they  
  said, but haven't had the chance to run it again. Will post  
  again when I do."

  boat in rough water. Engine was replaced under warranty in  
  2000, I recently had it serviced and compression tested.

  Came back to Raker and am learning to fly. Still haven't been  
  able to get to wot numbers. Chasing Reds and specs in the   
  marsh and turn around to finish off with a few bass in the same  
  trip. Can't get enough. This is my first bass boat and I'm   
  hooked. Only gripe is rod box open to bow and rods tangle in   
  wiring up front. I'll learn to live with that one."

  this boat till it falls apart. The only thing I might change in the   
  future is to swap the motor for an Evinrude E-tech 225."

  "Gentlemen, please be aware that OMC was putting spark   
  plugs in new engines that were way too hot, and they knew it  
  was causing engine failure but continued doing so to increase  
  engine performance. An OMC mechanic told me this, a year  
  after mine blew at 65 hours.  My '99 powerhead is less power-  
  ful but it is now dependable. I no longer run at 6200 rpm at 79  
  mph fully loaded but I'm ok with 75 mph and no breakdowns.  
  Please be careful about running QL82YC spark plugs, they are  
  too hot, need to run QL78YC (Champion marine plugs).  
  I'm looking to get some of my speed back with maybe trying a   
  26" Raker prop. The 4 blade 25" Renegade I have always ran  
  may be costing me a little top end. On the brighter side, I can't  
  say enough about my Javelin, I love it.  My friends and family  
  gripe because I keep it so clean, but my 5 year old boat has  
  been on the water countless hours and it still looks like the day   
  I bought it, and their boats are filthy and falling apart at 1 or 2
